Many members of our community were aware that those senior adults requiring a retirement type community setting had to move away from family and friends to seek such accommodations. Several individuals approached the Dukes Memorial Hospital Board members and the CEO regarding this void in the community. Mennonite Health Services of Goshen. IN, were contacted to conduct a marketing study to determine the actual needs of our community and what type of senior living community would be required to meet those needs. This study incorporated the surrounding areas within a 25 mile radius. First, demographic studies were conducted and when those results appeared favorable, then surveys were conducted to citizens within this same area. Mailed surveys, telephone surveys, and community focus groups were all conducted, the results of which appeared to be very positive. The Board of Directors then decided to move forward with the project.

In 1999, our first Villa resident moved in, and The Gables opened in 2001. In February 2007, Blair Ridge became a Ridgeline Management Company  property and proudly supports their mission of creating environments where moments of joy, independence, and wellness are the focus each and every day.
